Amit is originally from Himachal Pradesh, India, and obtained his PhD from Gautam Buddha University, India. There, he worked on laccase isozymes to establish their role in helping microbes to combat stress conditions. After obtaining his PhD, Amit joined the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi as a senior project scientist, where he worked on the biophysical aspects of Zika virus capsid protein along with other intrinsically disordered proteins. Here, he is investigating the interaction of factor H interaction with M proteins. Outside the lab, he loves traveling, driving, and watching movies.
