Jesse Howe

Jesse is a San Diego native, originally from Vista, California. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Cal State San Marcos, where he performed research on labelling proteins for single molecule FRET experiments in the lab of Dr. Kambiz Hamadani. Jesse then went to Oregon State University to study protein interactions in the lab of Dr. Elisar Barbar. There, Jesse explored multivalent interactions using a suite of biophysical techniques including NMR, ITC, and MALS. At UCSD, Jesse hopes to leverage his background in characterizing protein interactions to help design and express a novel immunogen for Strep A. In his free time, Jesse enjoys horror movies, dungeon mastering, and spending time with his puppy and girlfriend.
